I am offering a Thorens TD-124 turntable with an Origin Live Illustrious tonearm in good condition. I purchased the turntable from the original owner who had it serviced on a regular basis when he had it. I had it for more than 15 years and used it for about 2-3 hours a month. I did not have any problems what so ever. The bearing housing has a heavy and thick bronze thrust plate and teflon thrust pad. Vibration damping materials have been attached strategically underneath. The original owner glued the turntable mat to the outer platter and he said it improved the sound. I had mounted several tonearms over the years and the Origin Live Illustrious tonearm produces highly involving music. I also tried several different custom made plinths (plywoods, slate, and corian), but the original plinth gives me the most musical experience. I also have the original dust cover that has some cracks. The dust cover cannot be used with the Origin Live tonearm as it interferes with the tonearm when you close it. I can include it in the sale if the buyer is willing to pay for shipping. Four tonearm boards are included: 2 boards are drilled for Rega/Origin Live tonearms (one is three-layer plywood, the second one is oak), 1 board is drilled for Ortofon rmg-212, and 1 board is undrilled (cocobolo).
