I am selling a rewired SME 3009 Mk II Improved (detacheable headshell). It’s a classic, in great shape, and was checked out and professionally rewired by Audio Origami in the UK.He cleaned and inspected the vertical knife edge bearing and checked and was happy with the horizontal. The rewire was done eliminating the SME connectors, which is one of the best upgrades for this arm. The SME connectors were removed entirely. Internal wire is Cardas 33 ga OFC copper wire, the external wire is high quality super OFC. The work cost about $200 and was done in 2017. The SME internal wires are known to be a weak point of this otherwise very fine arm. The arm is complete, in great condition and includes all parts (counterweight, antiskate etc), although they were removed to ship. I am also including an additional original SME heavier counterweight (132g) that will make it possible to use a wider range of cartridges. It’s a bit hard to find and not inexpensive. No headshell is included however. This arm was in my system for 2 and a half years and sounds great but I am going with a heavy cartridge that requires a much heavier arm. If you are interested in an SME 3009 Mk II Improved, this is in my opinion one of the best ones out there. Classic 9" J shaped arm with knife-edge bearings.
