One pair of JE Labs style Open Baffles. This OB design originated in Japan. I had them built by a professional cabinetmaker using beautiful and expensive Appleply. Appleply is a top quality plywood and is manufactured from Birch. It comes standard in a Maple finish. The baffles measure 35.5” (W) x 31.5” (H) x 11” (D). Included is a pair of 12” high plywood bases, also with a Maple finish. These make the overall OB height 43.5”. If you listen to OBs without and then with the bases, you will never go back to listening to OBs without them, they are that much better. The woofer cutout is for a 12” driver and measures 11” in diameter. They also come with adapter rings for 10” drivers with a 8.75” diameter opening. This gives you many options for drivers, both modern and vintage. I have used Western Electric 754A and Altec 756B amongst others. The tweeter cutout measures 3.25” in diameter, also giving you many modern and vintage options. I have used Jensen, JBL, etc. Also included is a single ACI Force powered subwoofer with matching Maple side panels. It uses a 10” downward firing woofer and 250-watt amplifier. It comes with its original owner’s manual, platform, pair of 4-meter DH Labs Subsonic subwoofer interconnect cables, spikes, high-level input connectors and shipping box. The only valid criticism of OBs is the lack of deep bass response and this subwoofer more than takes care of that. All items are in very good to excellent condition. I am the original owner and have been using this combination for over 10 years. I decided it was time for a change and sprung for the Pure Audio Project Open Baffles. If you can spend the money, I would recommend the Pure Audio OB speaker systems (approx. $3500 - $5500/pair). If you cannot, my OBs + subwoofer are the next best thing. Though they really do go together, I would consider spitting up the baffles and subwoofer. Since I have the original shipping box, I could ship the subwoofer.
