For sale are two (2) completed (already built) Bottlehead Foreplay pre-amplifiers. Note that this ad is intended to sell BOTH UNITS TOGETHER.Both are the Original "kit" version that was offered about 15 years ago, though both are completely different finished products. For example the one with the silver top plate is built with the "standard" circuit components and fitted with an attached power cord (though this could obviously be changed on the user end) with a molded Hospital Grade (Green Dot) plug, while the other with the red top plate was heavily modified using upgraded components throughout (Circuit boards, MultiCaps; upgraded capacitors, resistors, etc.) and has an IEC receptacle allowing the use of any power cord of your choice. As is self-evident in the attached pictures, each unit was "finished" somewhat differently; please refer to the pictures of both the exterior and interior (underside) of each unit, which will show in more exact detail what I could try to say in words and provide information on what's what. Some of the phone pics I took appear distorted when uploaded on the Asylum Trader site, and I have more pics than I can upload with the ad; if you are serious please call/text me at 252-947-5759 and I will text them to you. Both units are working condition and sound very nice, btw, but obviously are sold "As Is". Both units are in better than "Very Good" condition overall however I feel an 8-rating is appropriate given their age. Please check my feedback and buy with confidence. I believe I still have one of the Instruction manuals and the original box and packing materials-- oh there is also an extra 4 pieces of pre fabricated wood which could be used to build the "body" of another Foreplay unit. I will pack each separately and ship in a box large enough to accommodate both units with enough additional packing material for safe and secure transport.
