The LW-1 is an amazing passive pre-amplifier that I used for many years until I needed a powered unit (for a turntable), but it is one of the most transparent "line control" that you can possibly get, with a level of detail, low noise-floor and musicality that rivals $$$$ preamplifiers. It features an ALPS pot with point-to-point hand wiring. Multiple inputs and has tape bypass.I am the first and only owner. Unit is well-loved and usually used with isolation and extra weights on top for resonance control. Functionally flawless, never been in a smoking/pet environment. There's a scratch on the left front corner of the face (see photos) but you can't really notice this from listening distance. Please see the following reviews of this little wonder!
