These beauties are made in Italy. The top base is nearly 7 inches and the bottom plate is very durable. These are really nice stands. They are gorgeous in any room and handle all kinds of monitors. I used a product called blue tak to hold the speakers on, and they won't move. You don't find these in big box stores. They are like brand new, because I used them for maybe a month. Not a spec on them.
