I am selling an amplifier I said I would never sell. It is the venerable, vintage Voice of Music 1428 Stereo tube integrated amplifier. It is in good condition cosmetically (better than most I've seen) and electronically. I believe the previous owner recapped some caps. I never checked because it has sounded so well for me. Unbelievably well in a vast array of speakers. It has not given me a seconds worth of trouble in the five years I have owned it. This amp was made circa 1965. It still has the "tone-o-matic volume control that most folks disable but I kind of liked it.
Tubes are 6EU7, 12AX7, 6BQ5.
This is a stunning amplifier that just produces a remarkable presentation.
I believe it puts out about 30 watts per channel. It is the big brother to the lower powered VOM 1448 everyone raves about. I think the asking price is reasonable considering the sonics of this fine amplifier.
