For sale is an extremely unusual little amplifier. Made by custom builder Jeremy Fix, this is a single ended amplifier using the 6SN7 tube as a power tube. I know Jeremy has built another of these, but beyond those two I am not aware of another amp like this one anywhere.So how does the 6SN7 sound as an output tube? Simply amazing! The sound from this little beast is hard to put into words. After warmup, this amp images better than most anything I’ve owned so far and still has a rich and full sound. Each brand or “flavor” of 6SN7 sounds different, and it is really a kick to hear the contrasts between tubes like Tung Sols, RCA grey glass and Soviet porthole 1578s. The amp delivers with a nice quad of superb quality brown base Tung Sol 6SN7WGTA tubes. About 2 watts per channel, so you'll need efficient speakers to make the most if this. Vintage Stancor power transformer, with telefunken output transformers. Very low internal parts count; this is as simple as it gets. I'd love to keep this one, but I need funds for another project.
