I have decided to sell my ultra rare HH Scott LK272 integrated amp. This amp was made during the "Golden Age" of tube audio and at the time it represents the pinnacle of HH Scott engineering. It has been totally rebuilt and has been in regular rotation in my amplifier lineup. This Scott model was the top of the line for all of their models in 1960. The rebuild uses all paper in oil caps , like Sprague VitaminQ in all of the signal paths. The noisy and out of spec carbon composition resistors have been replaced with matched to less than 1% metal film and metal oxide resistors. The high quality can capacitors have been carefully reformed and work perfectly. The amp is totally quiet and sounds wonderful.

This unit is in nice and clean condition and has been play tested for many hours to test long term reliability. The faceplate left and right edges are dinged. The previous owner evidently tried to straighten them out in a less than professional manner. Here are more photos for your consideration.

Many audiophile and music lovers are realizing that vacuum tube audio sounds better than solid state equipment with its warm and natural sound being more pleasant to the ears. Find out why for thousands of dollars less with this original, vintage 1960s era, HH Scott 272 integrated amp. This amp comes ready to plug in and play after being checked out for operating condition with voltage checks and several days of extended play on my JBL L112 studio monitors.

The unit is in excellent sounding and good cosmetic condition except for the edge of the front panel where the previous owner caused some dings. The unit comes with all vacuum tubes including 2 tube rectifiers for the utmost in liquid sound. The preamp section contains a variety of inputs including a tube powered phono stage. Output is 36 watts rms per channel from 4 EL34 output tubes, 6 12AX7 preamp tubes, and 2 ECF80 splitter/driver tubes. Peak output is about twice that. While this unit has been thoroughly tested it is SOLD AS IS. In the following photos you can see the new custom made bottom plate which is completely ventilated for superior heat dissipation essential for tube longevity. The photo with the cover off shows the completely rebuilt circuits with all new VITAMIN Q PIO , paper in oil, capacitors, new power supply electrolytics, and new resistors in the signal and power supply.

This is a highly collectible classic tube stereo from the 1960s using 4 EL34 power tubes (INCLUDED!) with fixed bias for an impressive 36 watts/channel output. This is achieved with the help of the GYNORMOUS TRANSFORMERS, which are actually bigger than the Dynaco ST70 trannies. While the asking price may seem high, the HH Scott tube stereos from the 1960s are highly collectible and unlike most audio equipment retain and increase in value as they only rarer. The price of unreliable and untested units have been selling for 800.00 to over a 1000.00. An untested unit just sold on 12/9 for over 800.00!
