Also the power supply has been further upgraded and refined with a superior performing LCLC filter. MORE UPGRADES! To further improve the sound of this over achieving little amp I have improve the critically important power supply by adding another choke! The PS now consists of a choke followed by a 47uf capacitor, another choke and a 68uf capacitor, to remove nearly all traces of AC in the power supply. Power output is an amazing 6 watts per channel. Amazing because on my JBL L112 speakers that is loud enough to drive my wife out of the living room.

ALOHA , I have rebuilt this vintage stereo tube amp with all new modern parts for reliable operation and excellent sounds. Here is a chance to discover why audiophiles are raving over single ended tube amps at a fraction of the cost! The amp is fully tubed and ready for your listening enjoyment. This would be a superb partner with your ipod or walkman and some efficient speakers for a vastly improved sound quality. Mahalo, for reading the complete text and visiting my sale.

This is a 1960s vintage Magnavox single ended stereo amp that has been totally rebuilt and sounds so sweet. It uses 1 EL84/6BQ5 power pentode operating in Class"A" for each side with a 12AX7 triode for the voltage amplifier. A 6CA4 tube rectifier is used for the best sound quality and output is about 6 watts/channel of luscious tone. Just 4 tubes for the amp...! talk about having a blast tube rolling on the cheap. Don't let its small size fool you as the saying goes, great things come in small packages.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Single Ended tube amplification let me explain the beauty of this extremely simple amplifier. Many audiophiles feel that the simplest audio circuit in conjunction with single ended "class A" operation with the shortest pathway from input to output is the best sounding. In this single ended amplifier the audio signal only passes through 2 stages of amplification and a single capacitor before output. There is no signal splitting as in "push-pull" type amps , so, the signal integrity remains complete from start to finish. This results in a remarkable sounding amplifier whose output has the least effect on the recorded medium. You really must hear it to believe.

This amp has been totally rebuilt with only the chassis, transformers, and tube sockets being reused. It will come with all the tubes and if you want to upgrade to some vintage Mullard, Telefunken, RCA or GE, etc. Let me know and i can give you a good deal on a tube upgrade. All resistors and capacitors have been replaced with modern high quality parts like Nichicon Muse, and Dale milspec resistors. The power supply has been rebuilt with new caps, and resistors. 2 filter reactor has been added for better current regulation and better control during loud passages. Also added is a new power cord, fuse and on/off switch. 4 rubber feet, 2 new silver plated rca jacks, and 4 new 5 way binding posts for your hi-end speaker cables. Check out the pics for all the details.

Find out why audiophiles are in love with single ended amp. Talk about life-like vocals, single ended tube amps have all the the others beat. So, if you are into jazz, and/or mainly vocal works this amp will definitely give you 95% of single ended triode amps with only 10% of the dollar investment. I have been playing this amp all day on my JBL L112 speakers and even though the JBLs like about 25watts of power they still can fill my living room with excellent quality sound. And if you are lucky enough to have some horn speakers, forget about it! So, even if this amp has not broken in yet it sounds great.

Just remember if you are into headbanging, window rattling, neighbors phoning the police, loudness, this amp is definitely not your cup of tea. But if you are looking for a great sounding little amp for your den or bedroom this will make a Bose sound like pocket transistor radio in comparison and probably cost less and have a better resale value.

Per usual, this is a 60 year old piece of equipment and it is sold strictly as is.

The amp is in nice/clean condition and has been rebuilt for proper operation. Please email me if you need more info. Here is a photo of the under chassis. You can see the totally rebuilt circuit. Everything you are looking at is new except the chassis, transformers, and tube sockets!

Many audiophile and music lovers are realizing that vacuum tube audio sounds better than solid state equipment with its warm and natural sound being more pleasant to the ears. Find out why for thousands of dollars less with this original, vintage 1960s era, tube amp stereo. This amp comes ready to plug in and play after being checked out for operating condition with voltage checks and several days of extended play on my JBL L112 studio monitors
The unit is in excellent sounding and cosmetic condition with all vacuum tubes included. Output is about 6 watts rms per channel. Peak output is about twice that. If you are not familiar with vacuum tube amplifiers, they typically perform the same as transistor amps that are twice the power. In other words it will play as loud (but sound way better) than a transistor amp. While this unit has been thoroughly tested it is SOLD AS IS.
