Lovely NOS/NIB pair of Siemens Munich Germany (A-Phi-1 /=/ 5E and 5F A01=5) 1965 matched 6922/E88CC NIB. --Gold Pins, grey risers and electrostatic shield.
--A-Phi-1 /= 5 E and 5F, both 1965 matched date codes
--Internal triode balance is outstanding and much higher than NOS spec in data. --Tests 14,500/14,500 and 14,000/14,000 for Gm on my calibrated TV7-D/U (NOS Spec is 12,500, validated with Amplitrex-tested reference tubes).
--Pegs the meter on an Eico 666 (>140/140 and >140/140), new is 120 on my tester.
--No gas, no shorts, no hum, no noise, no microphonics. Headphone tested.
--RCA branded.
--Matched date codes acid-etched in glass
--Good print --NIB/NOS --Boxes are in good shape.
--Tested in the preamp stage of a SET headphone amp and found to be dead quiet and free of microphonics--even when challenged by the 'tap-test'. If one peruses ads for tubes such as these, one will find some that say NOS, but will have dark glass and even corroded pins. Sometimes, the data are presented as "tests strong". They may say quiet, but no information is provided what this means. Sometimes, the ad will be for "NOS", but no data at all are offered. It is rare indeed to see 2X tested tubes, on two calibrated testers, each using a different electronic method, both showing the same 'ultra-NOS' results (2X tested, considerably higher than new specification, headphone amp tested). this pair is reference quality. The post-1965 manufactured tubes of this type simply do not compare to the earlier Siemens E88CC with grey risers, such as these.
