Great sounding pair of JBL L100t3 floorstanding 3 way monitors. Most agree that these were the best sounding speakers JBL made back in the day. These were manufactured here in the USA back in 1989, and were the last ones made before JBL switched to production overseas, and from there things all went downhill. The L100T3 was the improved version of their very well reviewed L100T, with improved crossovers and newer titanium tweeters. These are quite large and heavy, weighing in around 70lbs each. Dimensions are 37" Tall, 14.5" wide, and 13" deep.
They are an easy load to drive, rated at 91db @ 1watt/1 meter and an 8 ohm load. The large and powerful Aquaplas woofers produce great bass down into the lower 30hz area. I recently took the woofers to The Speaker Exchange in Tampa where they professionally re-foamed the surrounds (they did a first-rate job!). I have also replaced the old grill cloth with a nicer looking fabric that is sonically more transparent than the original. All the drivers are original JBL of course, and in excellent condition. The wood veneer looks pretty good all around, considering their age. Normal, light hairline scratches and scuffs. I have rated them a conservative "6" just to be safe. With the grills removed, you can see there is a slight bit of fading above and below the finish where the wood was exposed.
I have priced these to sell quickly as a LOCAL sale, for I do not have the original shipping boxes. Please do not ask me to ship them, for making custom boxes and taking the risk of damage is not something I want to do.
