I've owned the gambit of tuners from McIntosh to Marantz 10Bs and the Fishers. Most enthusiasts believe that the Fisher FM-200B holds it own with them all. Some think that the Fisher FM-100B is the same with the exception of the variable volume control. This is not true. The FM-200B is quite different. First, the big difference between the two is in RF performance. The 200B also has an extra variable capacitor in the front end and an extra filter in the IF train. In addition, the FM-200B has a variable output and can be used with only a amplifier without the need for a preamp. I used this one this way for my garage system. As you can see, the tuner is fully functional and all lights are operational. It's currently installed in my system, so any So. California buyers are welcome to test it and avoid shipping costs. It's a great sounding tuner and it's been all checked out and aligned by Mike Zuccaro, a well known master of vintage electronics.
