Audio Note AN/ J Loudspeakers in Rosewood veneer. I am the second owner of these and have enjoyed them for 15 years. The original internal AN-L wiring was replaced with AN-SP silver wire. 2-way 1" dome tweeter, 8" woofer, rear ported, 93 dB sensitivity. They are very well suited for low-power tube amps and can also be a good match for SS amps. They are ideally suited for rooms ranging from 130 sq. ft. to 430 sq. ft. The AN/J's perform extraordinarily well with any musical genre from simple acoustic to large scale orchestral music. The front and back are matte black chipboard. The drivers are the same as those in the current line of speakers. Original grilles are supplied and in excellent condition. The cabinets are in excellent condition considering their age. They have been well cared for with only a few very minor marks that are hard to find without searching them out. The bottoms do have marks from stand mounting. Overall I would conservatively rate the condition of the speakers 7-8/10 primarily due to their age. I recently replaced the aging foam surrounds with new ones supplied by Audio Note. According to Audio Note, the new surrounds need about 100 hrs. of run-in to reach optimal sound. The speakers should have a long life of great sound as the new surrounds are more resistant to environmental and age related breakdown than the originals were. Included with the speakers are dedicated sand filled, spiked, three post, Sound Anchors stands that were designed to Audio Note specs for the AN/J's. Blu-Tak is the recommended interface between stands and speakers although other materials also work well. Included are speaker jumpers that are 16 ga. 99.99% soft-annealed silver wire. These are very similar to those currently supplied with new AN speakers. I have the four original shipping boxes for both the stands and speakers and they will be packed with the original foam inserts. Total weight for the four boxes containing the speakers and stands is 152 lbs. The cost for the speakers and stands is $1500. Money Order/Certified Check and Paypal (add 3%) accepted for payment.
