Here's a Pilot 602 tube receiver for sale. I'd just re-capped it with quality capacitors and it sounds great. Also re-stuffed all the can caps to spec with new Nichicon and Panasonic capacitors. Almost every one of the 27 or so old kidney bean caps tested to be leaky, even though they tested to be in specification microfarad-wise, so the leaky ones were replaced. Now the receiver sounds very musical. The AM & FM bands work well. The FM is in mono unless you get an additional multiplexer. (Mono FM sounds great if you've never heard it.) I had not used the phono section, so I can't comment on it. I'd run a CD player through the tape and multiplex RCAs and it sounded great. I've put less than 20 hours on it, so it is probably not even broken in yet. Here's a list of information on the 602 receiver: > 12-15 WPC
> 4 - New matched quad of JJ EL84/6BQ5 power tubes > All small electrolytic caps replaced with Nichicons. > All diodes replaced with UF4007s. > Amp section coupling caps (4) replaced with Russian K40Y-9 PIOs > Preamp/tone control/tuner caps replaced with Sprague 716P Orange Drops, two smaller K40Y-9 PIOs, four European polystyrene/foil (blue), two C-D PIOs (yellow), and one BEC 4uf 400V poly cap. > Comes with original owner's manual. > All tubes checked and weak ones replaced. The cage on the receiver is a little shorter in height and longer in depth than the original, but fits well, looks good, and offers better airflow than an original one would. This was a console pull, so it never came with a cage. There is also a small wear mark by the power switch that I thought I should mention. The receiver will be shipped double-boxed and the power tubes will be boxed and wrapped and packed inside the receiver's cage. The other tubes will be in their sockets, but packed in foam so they won't move during shipment. Due to the age of the receiver, it is sold without any guarantee, except that it will not arrive DOA and should initially play as stated. I ship all items fully insured. No packing & handling charges either. For payments made via PayPal add 3%. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
