Onkyo TX-8500 solid state receiver, 110 - 150 WPC – 1977
This is one of the best high power receivers from the 70’s. This unit has powerful sound, a great FM tuner section and lots of buttons to push. This is the original TX-8500 with the excellent analog tuner, not to be confused with the later TX-8500 MKII, which had a digital tuner. My research suggests the original is a cleaner, warmer sounding amp and a more reliable tuner. This one is in good condition with a few scratches on the metal trim, but overall looks good. Specs are: 22-7/16” X 6-5/16” X 18”, 55 lbs. I am asking $299. I prefer a local sale in Fallbrook, CA as I would prefer not to ship this.
