LOCAL SF BAY SALE, Pickup in EmeryvilleFor sale is an Mx110 preamp/tuner from the later "Z" series. Be sure to check out hi-res pics in the link above; not sure why some pics aren't loading here... This particular unit came as part of a McIntosh/Klipsch system that I got from the original owner who purchased the whole lot in 1967. The unit is in impeccable cosmetic condition with no oxidation or any rust on the chrome and all lettering on the chrome and front panel intact. There is some dust because I purposefully have not been trying to clean it due to the lettering being fragile. The only real cosmetic imperfection is the failing lettering on the inside dial class, which has been accouned for in my asking price. AudioClassics still does runs of glass for under $200, I believe, if one wanted to replace it for perfection in looks. I had 3 Mx100z units over the years. One was restored by a then-local tech, the second unit was rebuilt by AudioClassics, and this one I rebuilt fully during Covid myself. I studied the AudioClassics job very thoroughly and my rebuild MOSTLY follows it with the exception of some parts (caps in the signal path, mainly) that I found to be better sounding by experimentation. It is all subjective, but this unit sounded better to me of the three and it was also the best cosmetically, which is why the other two are long gone and this one stayed until now. The buyer will have the opportunity to audition before handing me the cash, of course. Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking at my ad.
