Up for sale, a pair classic Eico HF-22 monoblock tube amplifiers. Look original but with new parts and a few upgrades underneath. 6P3S-E tubes in PP mode make ~20 watts per channel. Original paint has been touched up and sprayed with clear automotive-type paint. Sound great, warm and full, and quiet for vintage tube amps.- Enormous US-made output transformers. Painted. - 4 Soviet 6P3S-E power tubes. - 2 US Sylvania 6SN7 tubes. 2 German Valvo EF86 tubes. All tubes test strong. - Beefy power supply, w/ new filter chokes added in CLCRC filter. 420VDC B+. - Sprague Atom and F&T Merson electrolytic caps. Film cap on input tube filtering. - RCA and GE 5U4GB rectifier tubes. - PIO K40 coupling caps. - Hi-quality, mostly Takman carbon film resistors. Some original Rosenthal resistors retained. - Cardas eutectic silver-bearing solder used in signal path. - 4, 8, 16 ohm speaker terminals - original screw type w/ adapters for banana terminals. - Some vintage parts: most tube sockets, tubes, can capacitors, input pot. - Power transformers get equally hot. Original parts layout retained. - New 16 gauge long power cords. - 13.5" x 8" steel base. Voltages are made a little below original spec and very close between the 2 mono amps. 6L6GC tubes can be used as well. Much of the patina of their age is retained, paint is not perfect, but fairly shiny with a 'semi-gloss' finish.
I built these amplifiers to keep but I have built others as well. Buyer will receive 2 matching mono amplifiers, w/ tubes, as shown. I've sold many restored tube amplifiers to very satisfied buyers. Will be well-packed in 2 boxes and ship by FedEx ground within US - best price for this weight. Will try to keep shipping cost to a minimum. No Paypal fee. Can answer questions and send more photos. Asking $1200 plus ship.
See my seller feedback and thanks for looking. -Pete.
