Here is a very nice ST-70 tube amplifier in excellent condition. This one is stock / unmodified. The tubes are a new quad of Electro Harmonix EL34s, a new Sovtek 5AR4, and two RCA made blackplate 7199s (branded GE and Dynaco) that test very strong. The transformers have the desired cloth covered leads and the assembly of this amp looks to be totally professional. I brought the ST-70 up slowly on a variac and it did play on both channels, but I would re-cap it before using it. It is not a plug-n-play amplifier. I'd bring it up slowly on a variac to verify that it works as I said, but the coupling caps and electrolytics are way too old to safely keep using any longer. The chassis is in very good condition with just a few very small pits. The cage has two small scratches on the top. I'd rate it a 8 out of ten considering its age. The underside of the chassis is almost as shiny as the top, but the picture makes it look discolored due to reflecting of the dark color of my shirt while bending over to take the picture. This is a very nice amp worthy of investing a restoration into it. I pack very well. The Stereo 70 amplifier will be double boxed and tubes are removed and packaged separately within the cage. Usually ship FedEx Ground, fully insured.
