For sale is a spectacular 845 amplifier from Art Audio. 18 watts of single ended 845 power in a very sleek and elegant chassis. This unit includes the glass chimneys for the 845 tubes as well as the under lighting. The chimneys are actually functional in that they direct the heat of the tube upward and make the amp much more comfortable to be around, and the lights create a very unique look that so far pretty much everyone but me seems to like.This amp features the 845 driven by a single 6922 with a pair 12bh7. The Carissa sounds very impressive on every speaker I used with it, and easily outclassed the Mr. Liang 845 amp that I ran it against in terms of detail, soundstage and sheer energy and drive. Mr. Liang is a great sounding amp, but it comes across as warm and fuzzy next to the Carissa, which is in a higher league across the board. Tubes included are a pair of nickel base Shuguang 845, Phillips 12BH7 and an Amperex 6922. No hum or noise of any kind from this unit, it is silent on my 100 db/wm speakers. This amp is not yet published on my hifi website (www.glowinthedarkaudio.com) but will be featured there this Spring. I’m out of room in my studio and need to move some gear out. Rated 8/10 to be conservative because I’m the third owner. This amp is very large and heavy and although I do have the factory packaging, I’m not willing to ship the amp at this time. The Carissa is available for pickup (and demo first) in Manassas VA, just outside of Washington DC. I’m willing to drive a bit to meet in the middle if need be.
