As I've over 137 pairs of various 12AU7 | 12AX7s, I've decided to share a few of what I've come to view as the much much better sounding or made options out there as compared to the often praised and misunderstood tandem of the so-called European Sisters, namely the brands Amperex | Mullard | Telefunken. Let me put it as mildly as I can as not to offend those whom think these are the only brands which merit music lovers attention, far from it......, as a matter of fact many simply have exposed the countless brands or factories from any given county to have concluded others which were in fact more desirable, yet simply unknown or overlooked. Here I'm referring to brands like Thomsom CSF ( France ) | Valvo or Lorenz ( Germany ) | Polam | Telam ( Poland ) | NEC or TEN Kobe ( Japan ). Which in themselves are much preferred by those in the know, and simply once again aren't known by many American counterparts as much as by tube collectors aboard, well here's an opportunity to correct these wrongs while having one up on those whom have us all believe nothing else is worthy of ones attention besides the three brands mentioned above. (4) Sylvania Gold Brand 5963 Long Gray Plate D - Getter NOS 1960 | 1963 ( 2 pairs @ $90 each ). (5) Mazda 12AU7 Half Gray Short Plate | Made In France NOS 1967 ( 2 pairs @ $90 each ). With a few more brands on offer, these we can talk about upon your response. [ 12AX7 ]. (1) Thomson CSF ( France ) 12AX7S Long Gray Plate D - Getter NOS 1959 | 1963 ( 2 pairs @ $150 pair as well as singles Black and Gray Plate @ $75 each). (2) TEN Kobe ( Japan ) 12AX7 Clear Top 12AX7 ( 2 pairs @ $125 each ).
