I am selling a pair of Martin Logan electrostatic speakers that are in good condition but just need the diaphragm coating restored. They do play but are not as loud as they should be. The coating wears off after 10-15 years. These sound just fabulous when the coating is still good - as good as any ESL and I have owned Quads, Acoustats, Beveridge, and others; the cool think about these is the stator assembly is slightly curved and reduces the "head in a vice" sweet spot and is effective. The built in sub integrates very well and these speakers really look neat without overwhelming a room - they really are a beautiful design and are in good cosmetic shape. I was going to do this myself but have too many projects ahead of this. You can get a professional to do this for about $3-400 BUT, they now have a spray the hobbyist can use and the results are quite good and long lasting. The product is called Techspray Licron Crystal. It costs about $45 a can and one can can do a pair of these. There is a lot of info on this on the net. So, for some minimal elbow grease, and less than $425, you can own a pair of beautiful ESL speakers that will be as good as any out there costing up the $6-7K!
