Serious upgrade for active monitors with limited bass extension or in a surround system.. Rare -built by famous UK audiophile firm Harbeth The sub can be used in 3 separate ways. (1) the first splits the signal coming from a preamp or mixer on XLR cables ( 2-5 channels ) sending the bass under 120 hertz to the sub and the remaining signal to the other amp/monitors . This greatly reduces the load on the main monitors while offering great bass. (2) the sub can be used in the traditional LFE home theater setup being fed the "subwoofer output" from a receiver (XLR or RCA input in this case) or (3) as a combo of both. . With the exception of the LFE mode connections are balanced XLR jacks and would require adapters or a signal converter if using with consumer level equipment.
Has a discrete 100 watt amplifier,a 12" woofer using slot loading and active crossover with full phase, input boost level and input sensitivity controls and t weighs 47.5 lbs. Measures 16. "x 16."x 18.". Cosmetically- some scuffs and a couple of paint chips - good news is it is painted wood, not veneer and is easily touched up- condition factored into price . Full inspection last year Original retail was $1500 USD . The linked manual gives a full description of usage options . At my asking price, the electronics and speaker alone are worth it and could be used for other projects.
