For sale are former Z Horn Dakini speakers that were a preferable (according to some comments) alternative to HornShoppe's similar rear loaded horns ported back that used to retail around $800 some two decades ago. You could still find comments on Z Horns at AudioKarma and Audiogon. The HornShopper's horns were glowingly reviewed at 6Moons and the Stereophile.
I said 'former' because all of the above mentioned horn speakers featured Fostex FE108E Sigma full range drivers. I have recently replaced the Sigmas with the latest MarkAudio's Alpair 7A full range drivers that retained all the qualities of the legendary Sigmas but added a tad more purity and precision and delicacy at the top. That plus the added burl walnut finish makes it an improved version of the Dakini.
The dimensions are 30" x 6.5" x 11 3/4" (12 3/4" with the front baffle).
As an aside, I was talking to a neighbor about the purity of the full range sound freed from the veil of crossover; intrigued he brought his B&W Matrix 2 Series 2 speakers into my living room - the Dakinis easily bested this top of the line 2 way speaker that used to retail for over 4K.
