For sale is an excellent condition pair of Sonus Faber Elipsa SE (Special Edition) loudspeakers in the amazing Graphite maple finish. Based on the nearly $50,000 Stradivari, the Elipsa SE is a highly refined Italian loudspeaker which was regarded at the CES show it was first released, as, "One of the finest sounds heard at this years show". This model, the new SE includes an upgraded crossover and improved mid-range driver.This is a gorgeous stunning looking and sounding pair of speakers. They come complete with the original factory double-boxing, protective sleeves, owner's manuals, spike kit, & grills. Originally purchased approximately 2 and 1/2 years ago - I attached the purchase invoice for verification and authenticity. Matching Serial Numbers 707 for speakers and boxes. I don't see any blemishes or scratches on the speakers' finish but rated excellent to be safe. I am selling to help fund some unexpected medical expenses. I tried to take as many pictures as possible, but can send more if needed. Also willing to send a video of the Elipsa SEs playing. I have owned the Sonus Faber Olympica IIIs as well as these Elipsa SEs, and the Elipsas are a signification improvement - tighter and more pronounced bass, more open and transparent, and far more musical. The room placement is much easier than the Olympicas - much easier to fit in smaller rooms, as they can be placed closer to the back and side walls due to the cabinet shape and diminished resonances interference. Much easier to fit in regular room sizes compared to the bigger Stradivari, which need a lot more space for optimal sound. The Elipsa SE cabinet is inspired by the idea of a pair of conjoined lutes, which naturally results in an enclosure that is wider than it is deep. The shape creates an infinite baffle for the drivers. This greatly improves the interaction of the room itself from the sonic equation allowing the speaker to sound like its in a much larger space, and not be constricted by smaller listening rooms. Even the cabinet materials, hand-selected staves of layered maple, are specifically oriented to reduce resonance.
