I am reluctantly going to sell these excellent speakers with a footprint that is only 9"wide x 30" high by 10" deep, weigh 28lbs each, and they can be placed right against the wall and their placement couldn't be easier. They have a big sound with surprising bass and a refined musical sound. If your space is limited or you don't want a speaker to dominate a room and you listen to a wide range of music including large orchestral works then these are the speakers for you. The Larsen 6.2's use very high quality Scan Speak drivers and tweeters which along with an excellent design makes speakers non fatiguing and always a fun listen. Read the rave reviews in the The Absolute Sound, Stereophile, Positive Feedback, The Audiophile Apartment and most recently Positive Feedback. Andrew Quint of The Absolute Sound states " It was immediately apparent that the Larsen 6.2s reproduced music with exceptional tonal accuracy and a high level of resolution". "In terms of resolution, I should stress that were not talking about hearing the kind of hyper-realistic musical minutiae that some speakers uncover, but, rather, the subtle textural detail that one perceives in a hall, even when sitting fairly far from the performers. Via the Larsen's the ensemble string sound of the Mandeiring Quartet playing Shostakovich's disconsolate and terrifying Quartet No. 8 in C minor was utterly convincing. And with "Southern Cross" from the 1982 CSN album Daylight Again, it was evident that David Crosby wasn't participating in the richly harmonized chorus on that selection the inner vocal parts were handled b Art Garfunkel and Timothy B. Schmit, audibly so with the 6.2s." The Audiophile Apartment review stated " Combining Jeff Beck's screaming guitar work with a driving bass line that really gets under your skin, these speakers can rumble with the best of them. Unless you need to feel the Earth move underneath your feet, you will not need a subwoofer with the Larsen's. The factory website claims "deep and precise bass down to 26hz." "The final aspect of the Larsen speakers that is highly commendable is their natural tonality. The seven inch woofer provides a quick, tight, punchy bass, with a smooth midrange and transition to the soft dome tweeter. Listening to some early Bill Evans, the Larsen's nail the complex overtones of the piano with ease, not a feat all speakers can accomplish. A similar outcome is achieved with any recording full of acoustic instruments. Vocals, both male and female are equally rewarding to listen to through these speakers, and no matter what your pleasure, they will satisfy." Thank you for reading my ad.
