I bought these used back in 2000. Since then they have been wonderful speakers. There are a few issues to bring up and as such the price is negotiable, just contact me. I found these speakers to offer some of the most natural sounding bass and midrange of any speaker on the market. When I listen I am consumed with music, not with the audiophile nuances of some other products. Finish is a natural cherry. They were in my basement system for some time. We got a severe downpour and a power outage which caused our sump to stop working. The base standoffs were in water and have swollen. They accept spikes and the overall appearance is not affected but if you turn the speaker over you can see it clearly. The finish could use a refresh. I hoped to refinish the speakers but have not taken the time to do so. SInce 2000, when I purchased the speakers one grill has one pin missing. It is actually stuck in the receptacle on the speaker. It was not a bother to me so I left it. It can be fixed with minimal effort. It seems that one tweeter stopped working. The crossover is fine; it is the tweeter. New tweeters can be purchased from Hiquphon of Denmark or maybe contact Jim Salk of Salk Sound; he now has the rights to the Fried designs, as I understand it. At one point I attempted to bypass a crossover section for an experiment. I drilled a hole and mounted a single binding post on the mounting plate. I have custom made boxes and will ship, but the buyer is responsible for shipping costs.
