Acoustic Zen Adagios with black/dark gray pearl finish for sale. Excellent to mint condition functionally and cosmetically with original boxes and velvet bags in same condition. Spikes with metal discs to protect wood floor as well as base plates are included. If local pick up, I will also include rough cut marble and carpet pads for speakers if desired.I am the second owner and have enjoyed the speakers for a year with about one hour per day average use. Previous owner, who tries out many speakers, purchased the speakers directly from Acoustic Zen and used them for eight months before selling to me. Why am I selling them? I’ve decided to try a different floorstander even though the Adagios are wonderful.
I tested them out for several hours before purchasing them and was impressed with their overall sound. When I got home and hooked them up, I put on Paul Desmond & Gerry Mulligan, Two of a Mind and was captivated by the balance, detail, and joyful musical exchanges between the two artists that I hadn’t heard before with several highly rated stand mounts. I’ve listened to them with both low powered tube mono blocks (12.5 watts per amp in triode) and a 150 watt hybrid integrated amp. Both configurations were lovely in different ways. The Adagios are what the reviewers said they were: “…so free of distortion that sounds usually lost in “noise”—soft sounds that get masked all too easily—were coming through across the entire frequency range.” http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/acoustic-zen-technologies-adagio-loudspeaker-1/ Further from an Audiogon poster: “I believe the success of Mr. Lee’s design is due to incredibly low to almost zero discernable distortion.…Truthfully, I find it difficult to describe the Adagios with some sort of “character” because they quite simply have none. They are a truthful transducer of the finest kind. It’s not just a matter of the middle registers sounding correct as they do in other speakers that are described as natural sounding either, but extended out into the frequency extremes as well. Cymbals and high strings have the sheen and crystalline clarity they should without being harsh or out of balance and the transmission line bass system displays power and body while at the same time being punchy and tight.”

For links to twelve reviews of the Adagio, here’s the page on the Acoustic Zen site: http://www.acousticzen.com/products/loudspeakers/floorstanding If you could see my listening room and hear the quality of these speakers, you would conclude that they are unfussy as to placement in typically difficult listening spaces. Local sale is preferred due to size and weight and my interest in assuring the great condition of the speakers.
