This is a vintage Sansui QRX-5500 Quad receiver. The Sansui was made in Japan in 1973-1974. This Sansui 5500 is clean, and works well. All controls work, all were cleaned and lubed. All dial lamps work, replaced two of them. The Sansui 5500 is rated at 22 watts a channel at 8 ohms. Really underrated, this one sounds like 50 watts a channel! The all wood cabinet is very clean, a few cuts here and there, no crunches. The finish was done with Howards restore and Howards feed-n-wax. The finish looks very presentable. The Sansui 5500 has many settings including quad decoders, and all work well .I do not have a quad turntable or reel to reel to test them. The pics show only working in two channels, but it does work on all 4 channels. This Sansui is a dual voltage receiver made also for Europe etc. These Sansui quads are getting a bit hard to find. This one is in very nice shape and works well. Tuner pulls in stations great, the sound is real nice. I can demo the Sansui 5500 before you decide. I am in Oak Creek,Wi. Price on the Sansui QRX-5500 is $350.00. Shipping available to lower 48 states only. Pay Pal accepted with fees. No original box or manual. Manual free fro HIFI Engine.
