Clearing out some unused items. Get your amps up off the floor or if they won't fit in a rack allow some breathing room and offer isolation from air and floor-borne vibration. For consideration: One pair of custom manufactured amp stands by Industrial Metal Fabrications of Walton, New York. I purchased these several years back when I owned tube mono-block amplifiers. I have since bought another stand manufactured by the same company to accommodate my stereo amplifier and other playback equipment.These stands are extremely well engineered. They are manufactured of heavy wall 1”x2” steel tubing, 23.5” x 14.25” O.D. for the frames; the tops are ½” thick gray Corian, 21.25” x 12”, resting on ½” thick Sorbothane in the corners of the frame and a sound deadening material applied on the bottom of the Corian. The stands are supported by 3/8” adjustable threaded spikes in each corner. They weigh approx. 20lbs. each. There are some light surface scratches in the Corian that could be buffed out if desired.
I found the bottom end of the sound spectrum improved with these stands. The bass region was better defined in pitch and tighter in focus. They can also help with microphonic tubes.
