I am selling my conrad-johnson PV-8 preamp with phono section, originally purchased in 1991, recently bench-tested perfectly by James Koch, technician extraordinaire. It features all-N.O.S. GE 5-star 5751's & 5965's, and a pair of Mullard ECC-83 / 12AX7's. Operating controls include balance, mono/stereo, left/right, and two tape inputs. This model is a phase-inverting design.Parts upgrades include fast-acting, soft-recovery diodes in the power supply, and 40 (yes, 40) Vishay SK-102 resistors that replaced the factory stock issue. These alone greatly improved the overall transparency and musicality of the unit. Also features a newly-installed Furutech gold 15-amp IEC inlet, so you can use your power cable of choice.
