Paragon-E preamp with a rebuilt separate power supply. A very rare Vintage find here..... only 200 were manufactured! My unit is in good cosmetic condition. The Rosewood sides are void of any major scratches, the front faceplate is very clean with all lettering intact. The top plate is clean with a few superficial scuffs that are not noticeable unless viewed from inches away. All the toggle switches and Noble pots are fully functional and void of any noise or static.
I have used the line stage of this preamp for many years without any issues. It's top to bottom tonal balance, coherency and layered soundstage is comparable to some of the much more expensive preamps from ARC, CJ, VTL, EAR etc.
The MM phono stage in the Paragon-E really is special..... highly regarded & recommended by Arthur Salvatore of High-end audio.com My unit was recently serviced and tuned by an Industry professional. The System E is a fully functional preamp with 7 inputs, and 3 outputs.
Three phono inputs, 3 auxiliary inputs and 1 tape input and 2 outputs plus a tape out.
With 3 phono inputs, it great for those with more than one turntable and perfect for AB comparisons.
Three outputs allows for Bi-amping or tri-amping. The topology is all hard wired from point to point sporting a separate regulated power supply.
The power supply voltage regulator and all power supply capacitors have been replaced.
Even though I don't use the phono stage in the preamp, the technician replaced 2 coupling capacitors and five out of spec resistors in the phono stage with 1% Vishay-Dale's. The four 12ax7's in the phono stage were weak and were replaced with strong testing old stock tubes with balanced triode sections.
The 2 tubes in the line stage are nos Rca grey plate's with tightly balanced triode sections that measure within 3%. Note: The phono stage in this preamp is truly outstanding however, it was designed for use with MM cartridges and does NOT have enough sufficient gain for most MC carts.
Although I haven't tried any of the Hi-output MC's, It does not have enough gain to drive my low output Denon 103R I don't have the original box but will package appropriately for shipping.
