Little brother to the well-regarded Peach and the Blueberry, and it makes lovely music. Over the stock version, the Hot Rod has an added choke in the power supply and AuriCaps, and uses the very fine 6H30 (instead of the original's 6922). One of the nicest features is separate volume controls for each channel, with a yoked center control for the whole unit, so you can adjust both the right gain for your amp and channel balance. Sound is warm, musical, and engaging. Read the review on Enjoy the Music, which concludes, "a wonderfully reliable, solidly built, thoughtfully engineered, and excellent long-term value." Amen to that.Not a lot of hours on this, as it was used in a second system. Two inputs along with a Tape in/out, so you can use three sources.
