For Sale:Threshold NS-10 Preamplifier and Threshold CAS-2 Amplifier Selling together to keep these two early Nelson Pass design and audio quality legacy gems together. Both are in very good cosmetic condition for their age, with the only “but” a very small nick on the face plate of the CAS-2 (see image). After my purchase from a reseller of an estate sale, both were sent to Mr. Jon Soderberg at Vintage Amp Repair for checking through, maintenance, and upgrading. The following service was performed on the NS-10: Circuit caps (1), Blackgate caps (4) , and RCA terminals (6 pairs- one phono, three line in connections, tape monitor, and line out). The CAS-2 service was: Output devices (28), Blackgate caps (6), Main caps (4), RCA terminals (2), AC Power Switch, and Cardas Binding Posts (2). Since the repairs and upgrades by Mr. Soderberg, the NS-10 has approximately 200 hours of use and the CAS-2 approximately 100 hours. Both have performed flawlessly for me. I am reluctant to part with them because of features and sound quality, but have decided to sell components to get down to one system based around an integrated. A little online searching will yield a few testimonials and discussion of features. Here are the links to a few of them:
