RARE Vintage USED RCA XT-2452 / Western Electric 618B Low Impedance Microphone Transformer. From what I gather this transformer has been sold as RCA XT-2452 and also sold as a Western Electric 618B. However, I haven't found any documentation to conclusively prove that it is the same as the Western Electric 618B. If anyone has any information on this please message me.A mounting bracket is included. I drove the transformer with a 1.0 KHZ signal from a 1Ω source. I loaded the output until it appeared to be critically damped with no sign of resonance. This required 10.0 KΩ load. The input to output voltage ratio was 1:7.07 at 1.0 KHZ With a 10.0 KΩ load at 1 KHZ, the input impedance measured about 102.5 Ω The input winding has a center tap if you wish to ground it. There is a ground wire coming out of the transformer. This transformer can be used as a microphone matching transformer or it can also be used to step up the impedance of a moving coil phono cartridge. This model transformer has recently sold on eeebayyy from $170 for a single transformer to $500/pair.
