The legendary Fisher 400 receiver should need no introduction here.

A great opportunity here to acquire a bonafide classic in outstanding condition. This one owner amplifier [serial # 77118] was purchased in the late 60's by my Father-inlaw to drive a pair of Vitavox corner horns. Cosmetically in "Showroom Condition". Original transformers... All silk screened lettering intact. No scrapes, scratches, scars or dents. Original control knobs & switches. All control functions were cleaned with deoxit and void of noise. All lights [on/off light & tuning panel backlights] are working including the magic eye tube. Just plug & play!

A bone stock circuit professionally restored with a new power supply, fresh tubes, tuned & calibrated by DTS Audio. No expense spared in the restoration. All weak tubes replaced including a fresh quad of matched old stock RCA 7868 output tubes.

The original power cord was replaced. All the electrolytics capacitors in the power supply have been replaced and mounted on boards under the chassis.[see pictures] Note: The empty capacitor cans that housed the lytics were left in place for authenticity.

In keeping with the preservation of the original circuit, the original German Ero Fol coupling capacitors and all the resistors in the signal path were removed and tested. All tested within spec and reinstalled with the exception of one leaky coupling cap on the phase inverter/driver stage of the left channel[V11] and the pair of coupling caps in the phono stage. To preserve the original tone here.....The .o47 uf Ero Fol coupling capacitor from V10 [tone control] was removed and re-installed in the phase inverter/driver stage [V11] to match the original Ero Fol capacitor for the right channel [V12]...... a nos Gudeman.047 coupling capacitor was used in it's place for the less critical V10 tone control. The pair of original Ero Fol coupling capacitors in the phono stage were replaced with nos Sprague mylar film capacitors. The cathode resistor on V13 [output tube] had drifted out of spec and was replaced with a 1% tolerance metal film.

RE: Tubes. All tubes were removed and tested. Any tubes that were weak or had mismatched triode sections were replaced.

The original quad of 7868 output tubes were tired and replaced with matched pairs [per channel] of old stock RCA 7868's to preserve the original tone. Note: the old stock 7868's installed in the amp were culled from a batch of 14 tubes, tested and matched [per channel pairs] on a calibrated Hickock. All of them tested better than 90% emmision [life test] Note: I have 2 more 7868's from the same batch that also match and can be purchased separately.

The weak testing pair of 12ax7's in the phase inverter/driver stage were replaced with a brand new matched pair of JJ 12ax7's purchased from the tube store.

The 12ax7 in V9 [pre amplifier] was replaced with a brand new premium series Northern Electric 12ax7 with gold pins & matched triode sections. The 12ax7 in V10 [tone control] was replaced with a nos GE 12ax7 [STC label]

The pair of 12ax7's in the Phono stage were replaced with a matched pair of new 12ax7's [fender label]

Tuner Section: Em84a [v7] tuning eye tube replaced with a nos Mullard

6ba6 [v3]replaced with a nos Sylvania [gold pin version]

ec900 [v1] replaced with a new philips ec900

Multi Plex FM section: All three 12ax7's were replaced with strong testing old stock tubes.

Currently in use making beautiful music driving a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls and should be good for another 50 years of quality music.
