For sale a Consonance Cyber 20B tube headphone amp. Uses one 12au7 tube and two EL84 tubes. Wonderful sound. Well reviewed. Retail price : $700The amp has a slight problem – there is a hum present through your headphones. The hum is slight when using high impedance cans like Sennheiser Hd600, but much louder with low impedance headphones. For this reason I do not recommend using low impedance headphones with this amp.
The hum is audible if music is paused, or during quieter passages in music. Otherwise its not bothersome with high impedance headphones. The hum is a common problem with this amp and has to do with the transformers supplied. You may wish to have the transformers upgraded or replaced, or consider re-routing the wiring inside the amp to help the problem.
