Pilot Radio Mono HF56 AM FM Tube Receiver KT66 - restored and working wellHere is a Pilot HF56 AM FM tube receiver. This is a rare receiver and one of the best sounding mono receivers when restored. I put in a good amount of time restoring it by: 1.) replacing all coupling caps with Xicon MPP (metalized polypropylene) 630V caps
.) replacing some electrolytic caps (but the main filter can is good)
.) replacing some of the high wattage power resistors
.) testing all the tubes and replacing weak/bad ones
.) verifying all operating voltages are within spec
.) replacing front panel illumination bulbs There is no hum and the main filter capacitor is good. It has a new pair of 1980s vintage National brand KT66 output tubes installed and the receiver sounds very good. It plays on AM and FM and pulls in plenty of stations. The Aux input works fine with my CD player. Ultra-linear output with 8 and 16 ohm speaker taps. Complete with bottom plate. One transformer has some moderate pitting (see photos), but the overall cosmetics are very good. It will be 42 pounds packed for shipping. Pay Pal adds 3% for domestic sale..
