Reduced price! Selling my 2a3 SET built with the sublime skill of James Burgess. This amp is based on Gordon Rankin's Baby Ongaku design. Some slight difference to accommodate this build. Plate dissipation on this amp is 14.5 watts while plate dissipation on the Ongaku is 15 watts. I have more details and worksheets and parts list compiled by the builder Mr Burgess and will be included. The chassis is truly a find considering it came off of Ebay. Hardwood sides with hardwood end pieces on the bottom configured with a screen for ventilation. chassis is thick aluminum ---1/8 inch or close to it. Powder coating done by Mr Burgess' painter. Only blemish is where the penny sits ---in front of it on the edge --if that can even be seen in the pic. Tubes included: Siemens 12AT7 (2) heaters --sourced from Jac Music --tested and matched . EH 2A3 (2), rectifiers 6DA4A (2) Tung Sol. I have a pair of RCA 2A3 (2) tested and matched sourced from Brent Jesse that may be available possibly at extra cost although I have to check on how much I would sell them for.
I am particular about not only the sonic character of my amps ( especially tube amps) and I am equally concerned that they operate as quiet as possible--both at the amp and at the speaker. I was very impressed as James Burgess delivered in all respects.. .. Silent operation, imagery and musicality in spades. Selling only selling because I am in the midst of moving out of my stomping grounds for the last 40 plus years. And I cant believe how much gear I am having to pack up.. So far--12 boxes.
