For sale is a Berning ZH-270 amplifier.I am regrettably parting with this amplifier as my new speakers are very power hungry (I moved up to 400 watts/channel!). The Berning amps have a lively "presence" (not brightness or forwardness) that I've yet to experience with any other amps I've owned. In 2008, I switched from a berning ea-2100 (produced in the 1980s I believe) to a pretty popular solid state amp the dealer let me demo that retailed for $6k. The $6k amp sounded broken! It sounded very flat and unexciting compared to the berning and so I took the solid state amp out of my system immediately. If I could afford the berning 100 watt monoblocks (over $30k retail) those would be my last amps. In addition to the fantastic sound, this amp is fantastic from a practical perspective. It is about 15 lbs, very reliable, and the tubes last thousands of hours. If my asking price is met, I will cover half of insured shipping to the continental United States and also half of PayPal fees.
