Buyer should expect to service this amplifier before safe long term operation can be assured. Appearances can be deceiving. I'll get the bad out of the way first- It does not look good....but just like the girl with an ugly face, once the lights were off you found out she was very good indeed.... Faceplate looks like it had rack handles at one time and has scratches, gouges etc. Chassis is very clean. Operating condition is 9/10. Amplifier was powered up with a Variac over several hours. Power was held at 105V for 1 HR. Not even warm to the touch ! Sounds great- surprisingly so ! Deep tight bass response, great clarity in the midrange, and extended clean treble. Soundstage is detailed and wide. Rock steady central image in mono indicating both channels are balanced. This amp is a sleeper. Poking around the 'net indicates it is highly regarded, but not (that) well known. This one sounds much better than a Mac 250/2505.
