Sixteen 20 amper metal case power mosfets per channel in the output stage, 1000 watt power supply, computer grade filter caps rated to last over 20 years of life. the built quality is very solid, and built way better than most amplifiers that cost much more. Due to age, the selling price is a bargain for this awesome amp. I put this in the same league as my McCormack DNA 1 Rev A upgraded amp. I also own, but not for sale Pass X600.5 monoblocks, and the Adcom does have the same sound signature as of the Pass Labs amps. Very impressive.
The amps is well cared for and never driven hard. Great clean condition and looks excellent all around and no visible marks anywhere that I can find. This is a Nelson Pass design, and sounds wonderful. Super dynamic with very clean sound, excellent imaging, and very detailed. The 5800 is a all mosfet design resulting in a very musical sound reproduction. The 5800 is one of Adcom's finest sounding amps, and at this selling price, it is a bargain.
